Neighborhood Garage Sale

September 6, 2014, 9:00 am-1:00 pm — the West Hill Neighborhood Garage Sale was a success for most participants; lessons were learned for putting on next year’s event. Thanks to all who took part, sellers and buyers alike!

  • Date: Saturday, September 6, 2014 (Rain date: September 13)
  • Time: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

sale logoTo join the sale, contact Renata Ballard (rballar1@twcny.rr.com, 272-0135) and provide your name and phone number (will not be shared publicly), email, street address, and a general list of items you are selling. We will compile a list, create an on-line google map for shoppers, do some promotion, etc. Get the $5 fee (in an envelope with participant’s name on it) to Renata by Wednesday, Sept 3 — leave it between the screen door & wooden front door—or bring it between 5:00 and 7:00 pm weekdays. The address to drop off fees is 615 Warren Pl.

Each of the little red pointers shows a garage sale! Click for information about the sale at that location. You can zoom in and out on the map. Also, please click above to “Share” this information on Facebook — the more the merrier at this great community event!

Where is West Hill? We’re thinking the area between Floral Ave, Coy Glen, West Haven, Mecklenburg Rd, Oakwood/Campbell, Cliff St. The intention is to include rather than exclude — if you’d like to participate but you’re not in this area, contact us anyway.

  • Neighbors,
We noted our water running reddish brown late Friday afternoon. After a few phone calls we learned city workers were flushing hydrants on Richard Place.
Unfortunately, there was no warning, or none that we could find. Are others noticing this as well?
We were told to run water in our tub for 15 minutes. When that had no effect, we were told to continue running it. Since that seemed nuts, we are now awaiting a call from the city workers responsible for this situation. Of course the office was closed.
    Our tax dollars at work!
